Terms of service
Last updated 12 October 2026
These terms apply to madrasahs that subscribe to Al-Daftar and to everyone who uses it, including teachers and parents. By using Al-Daftar you agree to them.
1. The service
Al-Daftar is an online service that lets madrasahs record students' daily Quran lessons and progress, share reports with parents, and message parents. We may improve or change features over time.
2. Accounts
A madrasah's administrator sets up its classes and invites teachers and parents. Everyone must keep their sign-in details private and tell us or their madrasah if they think their account has been misused. The madrasah is responsible for the activity of the people it invites.
3. The madrasah's responsibilities
- Only add people and information it is entitled to, and keep that information accurate.
- Tell parents that it uses Al-Daftar and how their information is used (our privacy policy can help).
- Make sure staff use Al-Daftar appropriately. Safeguarding of children remains the madrasah's responsibility.
4. Fees and payment
- Al-Daftar costs £3 per student place per month. The madrasah chooses its number of places and pays monthly by card, in advance, through our payment provider Stripe.
- When a request for more places is approved, the extra places are available straight away and the difference for the rest of that month is added to the next payment.
- We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price change.
- If a payment fails and is not fixed after reminders, we may pause the madrasah's access until it is paid.
5. Cancelling
A madrasah can cancel at any time from Manage billing on its Overview page, or by contacting us. Access continues until the end of the month already paid for. We do not refund partial months unless the law requires it.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Al-Daftar to post anything unlawful, abusive or harmful, to try to access information you shouldn't, to interfere with the service or its security, or to resell it.
7. Your information
Each madrasah owns the information it puts into Al-Daftar. We process it only to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy, acting on the madrasah's instructions. If a madrasah leaves, it can ask us for a copy of its information. We delete it within 90 days of leaving.
8. Availability
We work hard to keep Al-Daftar available and reliable, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or problems with our providers. We will try to give notice of planned downtime.
9. Liability
We are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses. Our total liability to a madrasah in any 12 months is limited to the fees it paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
10. Ending access
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where we can, we will warn the madrasah first.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in an important way, we will update the date at the top and let madrasahs know before the changes take effect.
12. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will deal with any dispute.
